Anambra State Teachers Recruitment Update

The Anambra State Government has begun administering computer-based tests (CBT) to applicants for the 2023 teacher recruitment exercise.

Also, the state government recruited 5,000 instructors for public schools in the state last year and has announced an additional 3,000 this year. The tests are being carried out with the assistance of the Anambra State ICT Agency, led by Mr Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata.

“The applicants are verified by the ICT Agency technical staff with their national identity cards and examination slip before they are allowed into the CBT hall for the examination which lasts for only 30 minutes.”

According to the release, ASUBEB Chairman Dr. Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi stated that over 19,500 applications were received through the application portal, with applicants sorted into batches for the examination.

She stated that the CBT examination is one of the governor’s measures for training digital teachers, who would promote the state’s goal of digital schools.

“There is no way we can have smart schools when the teachers are not ICT compliant, hence the need to conduct the computer-based tests.”
